Dhanbad. A serious case of fraud has surfaced in Dhanbad where an individual posing as a journalist allegedly duped Rs 2.70 lakh. In this matter, Juhi Kumari, a resident of Bokaro, has submitted a written application at the Bank More police station demanding action against Golu Singh. The complainant has alleged that money was taken from her by invoking the names of the press club and police officials.
According to the application, Golu Singh had introduced himself as a journalist associated with a press club and media institution in the Koyalanchal crime zone. It is alleged that he took money from Juhi Kumari through various mediums by citing the Dhanbad Press Club and the Topchanchi police station in-charge. The complainant states that between April 15, 2025, and now, a total of Rs 2.70 lakh was paid through various bank accounts and UPI. Despite assurances to return the money, the funds have not been refunded yet.
According to Juhi Kumari, bank transactions related to the transactions, UPI records, chats, and other evidence are in her possession. She stated that all this evidence will be provided to the police if needed.
The victim has demanded a fair investigation by the police, verification of the money transactions, and legal action against the concerned person if the allegations are found to be true. Additionally, if the accused is associated with any press club or journalist organization, a request has also been made to the organization to investigate the matter. Currently, the allegations made in the complaint have not been independently verified. The actual situation of the case will become clear only after police investigation and the statement of the concerned party come forward.
