After 12 Years, RG Kar Hospital Patient Witnesses Durga Idols

Kharagpur. 36-year-old Gopal Patra, a resident of Hamirpur under Jamboni police station in Paschim Medinipur district, met with an accident on October 29, 2014. Initially admitted to Panskura Hospital, he was later referred to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata. During treatment, he became paralyzed. His wife had already passed away, and his relatives abandoned him. Paralyzed in both legs, Gopal has been living in the hospital ever since. His world was limited to the hospital's surgery building, bed, and wheelchair. This year, some joy came into his life during Durga Puja. After 12 years, he witnessed Durga idols. This opportunity was provided by Dr. Trinesh Mandal, Gouriki Roy, and Shruti Singh, post-graduate surgery department doctors and students of the hospital. They took him to puja pandals around the hospital. Hospital staff Gautam also provided full cooperation. According to the medical students, Gopal has been in the hospital for 12 years. It was agreed that he should also be included in the joy of Durgotsav. Try it, it feels good to do so. According to Gopal, he never thought he would be able to see Durga idols again. The doctors have filled his life with new happiness.
