Allegations Against Mukhiya of Kharkhandi Panchayat, Up-Mukhiya Complains to BDO

 Dhanbad: Up-Mukhiya of Kharkhari Panchayat, Najo Bibi, has accused Mukhiya Kundan Kumar Rajak of acting arbitrarily and failing to respect ward members. In this regard, she submitted a written application to the Block Development Officer (BDO), Baghmara, on July 20, demanding an inquiry. In her application, Up-Mukhiya Najo Bibi stated that ever since the panchayat elections in 2022, ward members have not been informed about any development works being carried out in the panchayat. Neither are Gram Sabha meetings being called in the panchayat nor meetings held with the ward members. No information is being provided regarding which scheme is running in which ward and which beneficiary is being selected for it. It has been alleged that the works are being executed by outside contractors. Former ward member and husband-cum-representative of the Up-Mukhiya, Sheikh Nasruddin, stated that currently, work is underway to install a water cooling machine in the Kharkhari Urdu School, of which neither the concerned ward member was informed nor was any Gram Sabha held. He mentioned that he had previously complained about this to the BDO, upon which assurances were given, but no action was taken. Up-Mukhiya Najo Bibi has demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and the restoration of the dignity of the ward members. She has warned that if prompt action is not taken, she will complain to the DDC Dhanbad. The version of Kharkhari Panchayat Mukhiya Kundan Rajak could not be obtained regarding the matter; as soon as the Mukhiya's side is received, it will be published prominently.
