Asansol. Bhamuriya village is situated in the Nituria police station area of Purulia district. Durga Puja is organized here every year by the Bhamuriya Bathaneswar Durga Puja Committee. Every year, it remains the center of discussion across Bengal due to its themes and cultural programs. Millions of devotees from neighboring Jharkhand also visit for darshan. This event is awaited throughout the year and is counted among big-budget pujas. Last year in 2025, its theme was Dubai's famous Swaminarayan temple, which received a very good response. Continuing this trend, in the year 2026, preparations are underway to showcase a magnificent and royal theme on the bamboo and iron structure of the pandal. Organized in the picturesque lap of the Panchet hills, the theme of the puja is 'Pashane Pran', meaning life in stone. Generally, stone is considered lifeless and is used in the context of negative emotions for humans, such as stone-hearted person, keeping a stone on the chest, etc. However, the organizers of this puja have conceptualized life in stones—the same stones that are connected with our faith, our deities, and various aspects of our daily life.
The pavilion and the entire design are being led by renowned artist and President's awardee Gourang Kuila. Beautiful stone carving art will be visible. Along with the pandal, colorful lights and fairs will also be the center of attraction. There will be cultural programs and live music every day. Key attractions include Jyotirmay Kundu on October 15, Nizhum Bardol and Kuasha Chakraborty on October 16, Rahul Sinha and Madhumita Das on October 17, Debashree Tanushree Dey on October 18, Amit Talukdar on October 19, Dev, Payel, and Tamal Das on October 20, and Arkadeep and Suromita on October 21. Overall, a great cocktail of music, culture, and entertainment in the puja atmosphere.
