Kolkata. Although the state government has not permitted the CPI(M) to set up book stalls near Durga pandals, the BJP has decided to go ahead on its own, planning to set up more than 2,500 book stalls across the state. Generally, books related to the party's ideology, Hindutva, and nationalist ideology are in highest demand at BJP book stalls. Keeping this demand in mind, this time more books related to the political life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an administrator for 25 years are being stocked. Other books include those on the life, political philosophy, and contribution to Kashmir of Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. Special booklets on various projects and successes of the central and state governments will be distributed free of cost from the book stalls. This is the first Durga Puja in Bengal under BJP's governance, and the party will also keep a special booklet detailing the work done by the state government in the last five months. It will contain details of work done on issues like investment inflow, beneficiaries of social projects, administrative sector reforms, women's safety, and financial empowerment. State BJP Vice President Amitabh Roy has been appointed as the in-charge of the puja book stalls. There will be theoretical books on the history and functioning of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the history of BJP's rise as a political party, and autobiographies of BJP leaders. A plan has been made to set up at least 100 book stalls in each district.
