Contract Worker Commits Suicide at IIT-ISM Campus in Dhanbad, Body Recovered from Under-Construction Building

Dhanbad: The body of 26-year-old worker Noor Hasan was recovered from the second floor of an under-construction building within the IIT-ISM campus. He was a resident of Araria district, Bihar. For the past few months, he had been distressed due to a family dispute. His dispute with his wife had even reached the court. The police took possession of the body and sent it to SNMMCH for post-mortem. Noor Hasan worked as a laborer through a private agency in the under-construction building of the IIT-ISM campus. His body was found on the second floor of the construction site. According to co-workers, ever since returning from his village, he frequently argued with his wife over the phone. The discord between the two had been going on for the past three to four months. Ram Manohar Singh, security in-charge of IIT-ISM, stated that the deceased worked at the institute through a private agency. He had a dispute with his wife for the last three months, and a case regarding this was also pending in court. He informed that the family members of the deceased have been informed about the incident. Once they arrive in Dhanbad, the post-mortem process will be completed, and the body will be handed over to them. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot, completed the necessary legal procedures, and sent the body for post-mortem. Currently, the police are investigating the matter. The further situation is expected to become clear after the family members arrive in Dhanbad and record their statements.
