Dhanbad: A review meeting was held through video conferencing under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Aditya Ranjan with the objective of completing the Special Summary Revision (SIR-2026) in an error-free and time-bound manner. In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the tasks point-by-point in light of the schedule. He gave clear instructions that 100% disposal of all activities, claims, objections, and scheduled hearings should be ensured within the new time limit extended by the Election Commission of India. The Deputy Commissioner instructed all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), Additional Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and election personnel to strictly comply with the stipulated time limit. During this period, priority should be given to the disposal process of first and second notices in cases related to no-mapping and logical discrepancies, and verification of voters who did not provide documents despite BLO house visits, along with the disposal of all other matters excluding notices, should be completed on time. Along with this, instructions were given to complete the digitization of all claims and objections received under Forms 6, 6A, 7, and 8 by October 31. At the same time, instructions were given to complete the door-to-door verification and digitization of Form-6 of left-out eligible citizens from November 1 to November 12, 2026. Furthermore, final disposal of all claims and objections should be ensured by November 23. The Deputy Commissioner stated that the final publication of the electoral roll is to be done on November 30, 2026, hence all officers should work with utmost alertness. 'No eligible Indian citizen should be left out and no ineligible person should be included.' Reiterating this core mantra of the Election Commission during the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that the voter list must be completely pure and transparent. Daily progress will be monitored, and strict action will be taken against officers and personnel showing negligence.
