ASANSOL. Goddess Durga took the form of power to destroy injustice and sin. Another mother from Suri, Birbhum, has decided to take refuge in Goddess Durga to seek justice for her son's death. She, along with her husband, has decided to lie down and pray in a Durga Puja pandal for five days. The whole story is extremely tragic and heartbreaking. Mainak Das was the son of Suri residents Paltu Das and his wife Pratima Das. Next year he was going to appear for the secondary exams. He was very excited about this Durgotsav. He was preparing for it just like the exams. He had bought a new pair of shoes and new sunglasses. He was soon going to buy a Punjabi dress. But his wishes could not be fulfilled. Suddenly he was admitted to a nursing home due to stomach ache. He was to be discharged on the morning of July 28. Suddenly he was given an injection and his condition started deteriorating rapidly. He died within a few hours. Mother Pratima and father Paltu blamed the hospital authority and the doctor on duty for the negligence leading to their son's death. But the accused did not get punished. Mother Pratima says that earlier she had thought of asking Goddess Durga for blessings for her son's good results in the secondary exams. But that dream was shattered. However, they will reach the pandal near Goddess Durga again. But not for good results, but for justice for their son's death. For the punishment of those who took their son's life. She has decided that along with her husband, she will lie on the ground in the puja pandal for five days and pray to the mother. No matter how loudly the puja drums beat, the echo of justice for Mainak will be the strongest for them.
