Inter studies stopped in 7 colleges of Dhanbad-Bokaro, BBMKU order

Dhanbad: Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University (BBMKU), acting on the instructions of the Jharkhand Academic Council, has banned intermediate (11th-12th) admissions in seven degree colleges of Dhanbad and Bokaro districts from the 2026-27 session. Registrations will not be done if admissions are taken. The affected colleges include BSS Mahila College Dhanbad, DAV Mahila College Katrasgarh, Guru Nanak College Dhanbad, KSGM College Nirsa, Bokaro Mahila College, Visthapit College Balidih, and others. This decision has been taken following instructions under the National Education Policy 2020 to limit degree colleges only to undergraduate courses. Reports have been sought from all colleges by February 28. It is apprehended that this decision will create complexities. There is considerable anger among students.
