Sanyukt Morcha Protests at BCCL Barora Regional Office

Dhanbad: Protesting against the suspension of Sunday and holiday duties at Damoda Colliery under the BCCL Barora regional area, the Sanyukt Morcha staged a sit-in demonstration on the premises of the Area One Barora regional office. A large number of workers participated in the protest. The Morcha stated that work has been stalled in Damoda since October 6 due to a land dispute, which is adversely affecting the workers. Workers were not given prior notice regarding Sunday duties on October 11 and 18, and holiday duties on October 19 and 20. The Morcha has demanded a swift resolution to the problems arising from the duty arrangement and to protect workers from financial losses. The Morcha warned that if workers' rights and entitlements are not met, the agitation will continue. The protest was led by Lagandev Yadav, Baijnath Yadav, and Mangal Hembrom, and was conducted by Sanjay Choubey.
