Dhanbad: Bihar MP Pappu Yadav has reached Dhanbad to extend his support to the Baramuri Khatal Bachao Andolan. Supporters gave him a grand welcome at the railway station. Following his arrival, political activities are expected to heat up regarding the movement. All eyes are now on MP Pappu Yadav's role and his next steps in this battle to save the khatal.
The issue of encroachment on government land in Baramuri Khatal has now reached a decisive turn. After the measurement and survey of about 18 acres of land, the district administration identified 155 houses and shops as unauthorized and issued notices. On November 2, the designated date to reply to the notice, the residents reached the Dhanbad Circle Office, where they sought additional time from the administration to gather land-related documents and present their case. People arriving at the circle office stated that gathering old land documents will take time, hence they should be given adequate time to file their replies. Reiterating their stance, the residents stated that about 20 to 22 years ago, on the instructions of the then Deputy Commissioner, they were relocated from Bekarbandh to Baramuri, making it unfair to evict them now. Dhanbad Circle Officer Rampravesh Kumar has clarified that the administration has initiated encroachment proceedings against government land encroachment. After measuring the land in Baramuri, the first notice has been issued seeking replies from concerned individuals. Residents have requested additional time to respond, which is being granted. Those who fail to present valid land documents within the stipulated timeframe will be served an eviction notice. If the encroachment is still not removed, the administration will use force to clear the government land. He made it clear that action to remove encroachment from government land will proceed under all circumstances.
