Dhanbad: Bengal Police arrested Rahul Mandal, a resident of Dhanbad, from Karnataka for allegedly marrying a minor girl two years ago. According to the police, the young woman met Rahul Mandal of Dhanbad on Facebook. Later, a relationship developed between the two. They left their homes and got married, but eventually, legal troubles forced the young man to go to jail. In 2024, the police arrested Rahul Mandal of Karnataka during the investigation of a minor kidnapping case registered at Dubrajpur police station. The girl was rescued.
During the investigation, the police found that after leaving home, both went to Kolkata and got married. Afterwards, they started living in a rented house in a village in Karnataka. According to police sources, on January 23, 2024, the family registered a complaint about the disappearance of the minor. During the investigation, mobile phone location data revealed that the girl and Rahul were in a rural area near Bengaluru in Karnataka. Subsequently, a team from Dubrajpur police station went there and traced them with the help of local police. Rahul was working as a supervisor in an organization there. About six months ago, the girl also joined the same organization as a security guard. However, since the girl was a minor at the time of the incident, a case was registered on her family's complaint. She is now an adult. After being produced in a Karnataka court, they were brought to Dubrajpur. Later, Rahul was produced in a Birbhum court and ordered to be sent to 14 days of judicial custody. Public Prosecutor Rajendra Prasad Dey shared this information. Police said that the investigation into the incident has been initiated based on the complaint. Efforts are being made to interrogate Rahul to know the details of the incident.
