Dhanbad: 22-year-old Mony Parveen, a resident of Loyabad, died during treatment at a private nursing home located in Saraidhela. Family members staged a massive protest, accusing the hospital management and the concerned doctor of negligence. A tense situation arose in the hospital premises, forcing police intervention. Mony Parveen had undergone a kidney stone operation at the same nursing home about a month and a half ago, during which a stent was placed in her body. On Tuesday, she was called to the hospital to get the stent removed. The family alleged that upon reaching the hospital, they were first pressured to deposit money. Afterward, the woman was taken to the operation theater, where she died during treatment. Upon hearing the news of her death, the family grew enraged and began protesting, raising questions on the treatment process and hospital management. They stated that the family's financial condition is weak and the deceased has small children, whose future is now in jeopardy. Upon receiving information, Dhanbad Mayor Sanjeev Singh reached the hospital, spoke to the family to understand the matter, and initiated talks with the management. The family's financial plight and the future of the children were highlighted during discussions. After prolonged talks, the hospital management agreed to provide financial assistance of Rs 7 lakh to the bereaved family. Mayor Sanjeev Singh stated that this is an extremely tragic time for the family, and medical questions related to the incident still require answers.
