Dhanbad. Ultimatum to vacate Baramuri Khatal! CO pasted a notice giving a November 2 deadline. Meanwhile, politics over the city's Baramuri Khatal has intensified. Amid fears of poor families being uprooted, MP Dhulu Mahto has met the affected families. Giving a blunt warning to the district administration, he stated that attempts to destroy the homes of the poor will not be tolerated. He said that as long as Dhulu Mahto is alive, the Khatal will not be removed. Dhulu Mahto's supporters call him 'Tiger'. The MP said that discussions can be held with the district administration regarding development work in the area. He is ready to sit and discuss issues with the administration, such as PCC road construction, installation of electricity poles, and providing houses to the needy under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. However, there will be no compromise on the issue of removing the Khatal. He made it clear that the Khatal will remain where it is and poor families will not be left homeless. Addressing the question of not allowing Khatals in urban areas, the MP referred to the then Deputy Commissioner Beela Rajesh and said that this Khatal was settled during her tenure. Targeting Congress, he said that hypocrisy will not work while being in power and double standards should not be adopted. He also questioned the videos being made by Congress and termed them wrong.

Dhulu Mahto said that wherever problems arose regarding the removal of Khatals, he has stood up and tried to save the people. Demanding records from the district administration regarding allegations of criminal activities in Baramuri, he said that if there is a problem of crime in the area, action should be taken against the culprits, rather than trying to uproot the entire settlement.
